DIFFERENCES between the Primary & Permanent teeth A – size : 1) Primary teeth as smaller in all dimension than permanent teeth 2) The mesiodistal width of primary incisors is less than their permanent 3) The thickness of enamel and dentine in primary teeth is approximately half its thickness in permanent teeth

B – coluor : the colour of primary teeth is bluish white , while that of permanent teeth ranges from grayish white to yellowish white C - crown : the crown of primary teeth are wider in their mesiodistal diameter in relation to their cervico _occulusal height than those of permanent teeth. This given the primary anterior teeth a cupshapped appearance

  9. 9.  Our obligation in community service and dissemination of knowledge of dental health .  To determine the prevalence of delayed eruption of teeth among school children .  Determine the most common causes and help in reduce of delayed eruption .  Awareness and guidance of eruption times and caries effect .

  22. 22.  Delayed eruption of anterior maxillary incisor was detected in 14.6 % of cases . [Table 1]  D E is more common on Male (16.4%) than Female (9.5%) . [Table 2]  D E in age 8 year was detected in 11 % of cases . [Table 3]  D E in age 9 year was detected in 18 % of cases . [Table 3]  D E in age 10 year was detected in 14 % of cases . [Table 3]
  23. 23.  9 year old is More Age detected D E (45 %) than 8 and 10 year old . [Table 3]  8 year old is Less Age detected D E (22.6 %) than 9 and 10 year old . [Table 3]  Both Medical and Dental causes was more recorded 52 % than only one of them . [Table 4]  Delayed eruption of Lateral incisor 55 % was more than Central incisor . [Table 5]  Private school student is less effected of D E 13 % than Govermental school student 16 % . [Table 6]
  24. 24.  That is very Important for parents to realize the eruption time of teeth and monitoring them and avoid any early or delayed extraction of teeth .  Malnutrition (specially in yemen) is the Major causes of growth failure , subsequently that important to raise Economic level for people .  Early detection for eruption problems avoids a lot of dental complication and money losses . This is achieved by maintain a regular visits to dentist .
  25. 25.  The research talk about delayed eruption of anterior maxillary incisor on range age between 8 – 10 years  It covered 212 students of two primary schools .  We adopted in our diagnosis on clinical feature and history .  The result was that there is high percent of delayed eruption due to improper nutrition which widely observed .
