    1. The Internet: A Space for Communicating the Gospel 1 st International Internet Meeting at Sao Paolo, Brazil: 14-21 Feb, 2006 Organized by SIA

    3. Why this meeting?
      • 7 th General Chapter (1995) – assumption of global communication.
      • Three continental encounters on apostolate and economy (1999) – the need to be in the Internet, to network, to share through networking.
      • 8 th General Chapter (2001) doc#32.4 – to take advantage of websites for wider exchange.
      • International encounters for apostolate and economy (2003) – “Internet as resource for evangelization”
      • Inter-chapter 2004, Sr. Antonieta B.: new mentality, to value websites which can make the image of the Congregation more international & universal.
      • Internet meeting to draw out lines of action for the future of our mission and vocation work.
      • 51 Participants from 28 Countries: Asia (12), NorthAmerica (3), LatinAmerica(15), Africa (5), Europe (15), Oceanea (1)
    4. Methodology
      • Seminar, Workshops, Discussion, Synthesis & Proposal
      • First Day: Each delegate gave an 8-min Presentation of their official website
    5. Next succeedng 4 days: Am: Talk Pm: Workshop/Discussion
    6. Last 2 days: Reflection, Synthesis, and Proposals
    7. Seminar & Workshops
      • Speaker: Prof. Gino Roncaglia from Tuscia University
      • Topics Discussed:
        • Digital World and The Convergence of Digitization from Various Media
        • Intranet, Instant Messaging, Weblogs, Wikiweb, Webcasting, Podcast, e-Publishing, e-Books, Digital Libraries, e-Learning.
    8. Final Proposals
      • To have one common website that links to our local websites, directing surfers to find us through a single access point in the Internet.
      • To have a databank of resources for apostolic animation and self-formation shared among the FSP worldwide. Possibly e-learning capable.
      • To make use of the new digital means: weblogs, e-books, e-learning, podcasts to diffuse our content.
      • To have a uniform “header” in local websites to give a uniform image of our identity.
      • To give a clear distinction between an Institutional site and an apostolic site.
