    1. Petrovo My village
    2. Population
      • The population of Petrovo is 750 residents.
      • The village is located at the foot of the Slavianka mountain close to the Greek border.
      • The origin of the name is Greek. “Petros” means stone.
    3. History
      • Petrovo is an old village . There are no evidence for its origin. However, during Archaeological excavations remains of a Roman bath and skeletons from the Early Christian era were f о und.
      During Ottoman rule the village was a Municipal center.
    4. Public institutions
      • There is a Centre for disabled children in Petrovo.
      • The children from the Centre participate in the traditions of the village such as lazaruvane, survakane and others.
      • Some disabled children play and study together with the children of the village.
    5. Sightseeing
      • Izvora is a karst spring near Petrovo , which supplies with drinking water 16 villages and the local WPS.
      • During the hot summer days people from Petrovo rest in a special place built for relaxation at Izvora.
    6. Provalen kamak (leaky stone)
      • Provalen kamak is a chapel just over the village . It is a big stone with a hole in the middle. People pass through it for health.
    7. The history of the stone
      • Everyone can pass through Provalen kamak whatever fat or thin.
      • If the man is very wrong the stone pressed him and sometimes people have been detained by stone.
      • If you fear to go through the stone you can spend either your cloth.
    8. Slavianka and hut Izvora
      • Petrovo is situated at the foot of Slavianka mountain , called “Ali botush”
      • The rare Balkan (Alibotushki) tea grows in the mountain .
      • The hut Izvora is situated 10 km away from the village .
    9. Rupata and Baseina
      • Rupata is a c ave and it is located about 3 kilometers away from the village .
      • Baseina is an installation of WPS Petrov o. It is located 1 km dawn from the the Rupata .
    10. Churches in Petrov o
      • There are two big churches in Petrovo - S t . Petar and Pavel, St. Bogorodica. The village is surrounded on all sides with 6 chapels: St. George, St Ilia ; S t . Atanas; St . Dimitar; Provalen kamak and Peshteri.
      • Peshteri is a village from 14 century with well developed potter y and farm culture . There are still some remains left. P eople from Petrov o renovated the temple.
      • People in the village are friendly and hospitable.
      • There are a lot of live traditions in Petrovo such as: harapini, lazarica, sirnici and others.
      • On 6 May each year in the village a festival is held.
