  • Tablets show increasing promise for making online purchases almost double than the mobile phone, how does your site compare? With the technology of smartphones there will be a generous increase with more people purchasing smart phones to essentially have everything they do on their pc’s and more at their finger tips, I barley touch my lap top anymore now that I have a smart phone and can browse the web in the same manner. You can’t really go into a mobile store now a days and buy a regular call and text phone, most phones now are smartphones that require a data plan packageSmartphone ownership increased from 16.8 percent to 27.0
  • Nearly 7% of web traffic is viewed with a mobile and or tablet deviceE-commerce purchases are shifting to the mobile marketThe iPad accounts for 21.8% of U.S. web traffic not coming from computers, while Android tablets represent 0.6% of that traffic and all other tablets just 0.1%, comScore says. But Android smartphones represent 35.6% of non-computer traffic, the Apple iPhone 23.5% and all other smartphones 6.7%. Feature phones, the less sophisticated mobile predecessors to smartphones, represent 2.4% of non-computer traffic, the Apple iPod touch 7.8% and other devices, such as web-enabled gaming consoles, 1.5%.
  • Traffic to social networks comprise almost 40% of the mobile Web according to a traffic analysis report published by Opera Software. The results both show healthy growth in the numbers of consumers accessing the Web from their mobile devices and provide insight into aggregate consumer preferences when browsing from their phones.Social Networking consumes almost 41% of traffic: The United States, South Africa and Indonesia have more than 60% of their traffic going to social networks. More than 11.9 million people used Opera Mini in March to browse 2.4 billion pages. Thus far, more than 44 million cumulative users have tried Opera Mini. Those 11.9 million people generate more than 33 million MB of data traffic for operators worldwide. One Web will triumph over WAP content: Full Web surfing comprises more than 77% of all traffic. WAP content still generates the remaining 23% of traffic. WAP percentages have declined somewhat as more consumers realize Opera Mini can access rich Web content.
  • Mobile sites are designed for the small screen, with the needs of mobile users in mind. A mobile-friendly site can help your business connect with customers and drive conversions. When searching mobile users want speed and by making your site mobile friendly it gives the user the same experience as using their PCIf your site is designed poorly and or your site is not mobile friendly this can cause a bad mobile user experience and can cost you customers in turn leading them to your competition, with simple upgrade to HTML 5 your site can transverse across all platforms. HTML does not require any additional plug-ins or software, it will play on a PC, iPad or mobile device with out missing a beat.Mobile and tablet usage has impacted the web in may different ways, it has made it more convenient for people to shop, do business, communicate with family and friends all over the world.79% of smartphone consumers use their phones to help with shopping, from comparing prices, to finding more product info, to locating a retailer.70% use their smartphones while in a store.7% have contacted a business via mobile, with 61% calling and 59% visiting the local business.
