    • MAYA 1- 300 BCE to 900 CE
    • 2-Descendants of ancient Asian nomads who crossed the Bering Strait 30,000 years ago
    • 3-Settled most of southern Mexico
    • 4-Domesticated native plants such as corn and beans
    • 5-Religion was polytheistic (worshipped more than 1 god) Mayan god of Rain
    • 7-Built large pyramids which are sill around today 8-Developed advanced mathematical formulas
    • 9-Mayan Empire abruptly ended around 900 CE for unknown reasons What do you think could have happened?

    • AZTECS 1-1100 CE to 1525 CE 2-Aztecs are also known as the Mexica
    • 3-Settled in central Mexico and founded the city of Tenochtitlan (now called Mexico City)
