  • 3. INTRODUCTIONEducation system forms the backbone of every nation. Andhence it is important to provide a strong educationalfoundation to the young generation to ensure thedevelopment of open-minded global citizens securing thefuture for everyone. Advanced technology available todaycan play a crucial role in streamlining education-relatedprocesses to promote solidarity among students, teachers, parents and the school staff.School Management System consists of tasks such asregistering students, attendance record keeping controllingabsentees, producing report cards, producing officialtranscript, preparing timetable and producing different reportsfor teachers and parents.
  • 4. EXISTING SYSTEMIn the current system we need to keep a number of recordsrelated to the student and want to enter the details of thestudent and the marks manually. In this system only theteacher or the school authority views the mark of the studentand they want to enter the details of the student. This is timeconsuming and has much cost.Teachers may want to associate a student with his parent oremergency persons for disciplinary measures which needsearching of the students record in the record office. It hasbeen difficult to search a record from thousands of suchrecords and observed that students can take any personclaiming that he/she is their parent or emergency personwhich creates problem in control of students.
  • 5. NEED FOR SYSTEMIn our proposed system we have the provision for adding thedetails of the students by themselves. So the overhead of theschool authorities and the teachers is become less. Anotheradvantage of the system is that it is very easy to edit thedetails of the student and delete a student when it foundunnecessary. The marks of the student are added in thedatabase and so students can also view the markswhenever they want. Our proposed system has several advantages:User friendly interfaceFast access to databaseLess errorMore Storage CapacitySearch facilityLook and Feel Environment
  • 6. SCOPE OF WORKThe purpose of any new technology is to make people lifeeasier. This project is database used to manage the schooland allows the administrators to register the daily requiredinformation of Students, Teachers & office staff.School Management System will organize work inside schooland proposed system will do the following tasks:Insert student’s information such as student name, studentnumber, address etc. Insert employee’s information such as employeename, number, address etc. Insert section’s information such as section name etc.Insert marks for each student in each subject he/she taken.View data about certain student and can edit it like addingor removing a student. View data about certain employee and can edit it likeadding or removing an employee.
  • 7. TECHNOLOGY USED Microsoft Visual Studio 2005: Visual Studio is a complete set of development tools forbuilding ASP.NET Web applications, XML WebServices, desktop applications, and mobile applications.Visual Basic, Visual C#, and Visual C++ all use the sameintegrated development environment (IDE), whichenables tool sharing and eases the creation of mixed-language solutions. In addition, these languages use thefunctionality of the .NET Framework, which providesaccess to key technologies that simplify thedevelopment of ASP Web applications and XML WebServices.
  • 8.  SAS (Statistical Analysis System) SAS is driven by SAS programs, which define asequence of operations to be performed ondata stored as tables. Although non-programmer graphical user interfaces to SASexist (such as the SAS EnterpriseGuide), these GUIs are most often merely afront-end that automates or facilitates thegeneration of SAS programs. The functionalitiesof SAS components are intended to beaccessed via application programminginterfaces, in the formof statements and procedures.
  • 9.  Microsoft Office Access Microsoft Access, also known as Microsoft Office Access, isa database management system from Microsoft thatcombines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine witha graphical user interface and software-development tools. It is a member of the Microsoft Office suite ofapplications, included in the Professional and highereditions or sold separately. Microsoft Access stores data in its own format based on theAccess Jet Database Engine. It can also import or linkdirectly to data stored in other applications and databases. Software developers and data architects can use MicrosoftAccess to develop application software, and "power users"can use it to build software applications. Like other Officeapplications, Access is supported by Visual Basic forApplications, an object-oriented programming languagethat can reference a variety of objects including DAO(Data Access Objects), ActiveX Data Objects, and manyother ActiveX components. Visual objects used in formsand reports expose their methods and properties in the VBAprogramming environment, and VBA code modules maydeclare and call Windows operating-system functions.
