  4. 4. Who are famous male scientists? <ul><li>Alexander Graham Bell </li></ul><ul><li>Alexander Graham Bell is generally credited in the U. S. with being the inventor of the telephone although this claim has been controversial lately since there are also claims that Antonio Meucci or Elisha Gray were the real first inventors. Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburg, Scotland on March 3, 1847. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Famous male scientists <ul><li>Charles Darwin </li></ul><ul><li>Charles Darwin was one of the most evolutionary thinkers of his time. In fact, Charles Darwin brought the revolution to evolution. Darwin was born February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England at his family home, the famous Mount House. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Famous male scientists <ul><li>Albert Einstein </li></ul><ul><li>Albert Einstein is one of the most famous scientists of the 20th century. Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany around 11:30 am. Winner of the 1921 Nobel Peace Prize for his work on the photoelectric effect, Albert Einstein was best known for his Theory of Relativity and especially the formula E=MC2. </li></ul>

Famous male scientists <ul><li>Benjamin Franklin </li></ul><ul><li>Benjamin Franklin was one of the Founding Fathers on the United States and an inventor credited with creating the lightning rod, glass harmonica, urinary catheter, bifocal glasses and Franklin stove. Even though Benjamin Franklin never patented any of his own inventions, he was an advocate for inventor's rights and was responsible for seeing to it that a passage was inserted into the U. S. Constitution guaranteeing limited terms for patents and copyrights. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Your Quest <ul><li>To honor men scientists, our school newspaper is publishing a special edition show casting the contributions of men scientists. Your class has been selected the task of producing an article on a male scientist. You will have no clue as to who your male scientist is. Your team (the photographer and the reporter) is responsible for getting the article of no more than a page to the newsletter editor. Your class has been assigned the role of the editorial team and is responsible for putting out the entire newsletter. </li></ul>

Your Jobs <ul><li>First you have to choose a partner and choose / define your roles. </li></ul><ul><li>Next, you will choose a male scientist and to avoid replication, make his name known to the class by posting it on the bulletin board. </li></ul><ul><li>Using the web sites listed above (or do a search of your own) to search for information on your scientist. Be sure to save some images to a folder on your flash drive to include in your report. </li></ul><ul><li>Include the following information in your report: Date and place of birth, early life, Education, Work Experience, Scientific Discovery, The significance of his discovery, how his discovery affects our daily life, His later or current life. </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure your final report is typed in the newspaper layout format and that you include relevant images. </li></ul>
