  • 2. Case Study of flooding in a rich part of the world: Flooding in St Asaph, November 2012 The month of November has seen flooding in various parts of the UK. The map below shows flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency. Some of the worst effected counties: • Devon • Somerset • Wales • Yorkshire • Flooding video here
  • 3. Causes • The flooding was caused by heavy, prolonged rainfall falling on saturated ground which resulted in water levels in the River Elwy that were higher than the flood defences were able to cope with.
