  • 16. 3. What are the impacts of tourism on extreme environments? Positive Negative As tourists are visiting very extreme locations (surfing in Antarctica) they are unlikely to cause mass damage. Tourists promote destinations by ‘word of mouth’ and places soon become at risk of being loved to death as more people visit it.
