    • To understand the difference between countries that ‘ have ’ and ‘ have not ’ got resources.
    Map shows internet users in 2002
  • 2. ‘ Haves ’ and ‘ have not's ’
    • This refers to the fact that a lot of countries in the world have natural resources, while a lot don’t.
    • E.g. internet users, world income distribution – look at this
  • 3. ‘ Haves ’ and ‘ have not's ’
    • What does this graph tell you about oil resources.
    • Turn to p 154 & 155 in Evolving Planet.
  • 4. YOUR TURN
    • Log onto worldmapper.org and print off 3 maps of world resources, remember to describe what they show, eg.
    • This map shows forests in the world in 2000. South America is very large with a lot of forests and Europe is small, with very few.
