  • With Accpac, getting to the reports is quick and easy, but more importantly, the successful information retrieval starts with the correct set up The reporting tools – whether Crystal Reports or the FR - pull the data from Accpac in real time for up to the minute reporting. It thus gives you the flexibility to get the report when you want rather than the other way round! Under the G/L set up options, you can define the various levels of reporting through the G/L Segmentation structure (Account, Division and Region in our example)
  • Once the parameters and data sources are defined, we additionally give you filters in the reports interface Open G/L FR and select a report: You can re-run a report using the Year/Period; Actual vs. Provisional; Choose the levels (Acc, Div, Region). You can even select the range of account numbers to include The output can be previewed or distributed as a file or e-mailed
  • You can also define whether the G/L FR can drill down to the Accpac source transactions for the details behind the numbers in your reports Open Quickinc4.xls and save it as a file on the desktop. Reopen it via the designer To drill-down, simply right click on the numbers or choose FR Drill Down from the top menu You can access the source data screen that you can drill down further and open relevant Accpac screens
  • VBA Macros Besides automating repetitive tasks and reducing keystrokes, reports that are created using VBA macros are an ideal way to provide additional options and filters Open Run Macro from the top menu in Accpac and choose “cashflow.avb” macro You are presented with the flexibility of changing the cutoff period rather than the hard coded 30/60/90 days. You can choose the degree of detail and the accounts to include With these options, you don’t have to wait to receive summary reports and the business data you need to make quick and informed decisions!
  • G/L Chart of Accounts Drill Down In Accpac, there is a complete drill down available to the source transactions right from the G/L Chart of accounts Think of this as an on-line audit trail/footprint of events that you need to research In G/L Chart of Accounts , choose the sales account 4010-100-10 . Click on Transactions button to open GL Transaction History screen. Say if I’m are looking for a transaction for the month of May: Change the ‘Period Ending’ to 2010-05 – transactions on the screen will refresh Scroll down to the sale to The Courtyard – the last transaction (the one that I am looking for)

  • Open GL Budget Maintenance Screen Based on the edition, Accpac offers up to five sets of budgets per account per fiscal set. This allows for a lot of room for maintaining more than one budgets for comparison and forecasting purposes In addition, you can choose from several budget methods to spread an amount over the year
  • Using fiscal set lookup, you can choose which year/fiscal set information to use as the baseline for budget calculations Budgets can either be pulled as reports or can be exported to Excel for review
  • Open the Budget.xls by accessing it from C:\\Program Files\\Sage Software\\Sage Accpac\\Macros or using the Macros folder in your Accpac install directory Accpac also ships with a macro embedded in a spreadsheet that you can use to retrieve budget data from Accpac company database You can manipulate this information in the spreadsheet if you prefer working in that environment

Once configured, Accpac users can start using it right away In addition to enhanced productivity, secure remote access also ensures that you have access to all the reports and key metrics you need to monitor

  • Open Accpac Alerts Server and point out the Alerts Customer Credit Alert Using these business alerts, you can notify the users (either via email or an on-screen notification) as soon as an event being monitored takes place As an example, a change in the customer credit status (their credit limit change or their account being put on hold) can immediately alert the concerned individual by sending out an email with the pertinent details
  • Account Balance Alert Similar notifications can be set up if a GL Account balance exceeds the budgeted amount.
  • Inventory Alerts In the operational modules, Inventory Control for example, you can ensure that critical events like inventory on hand does not go below predetermined levels Through alerts notifications you can ensure that timely actions are taken and the business does not suffer
