What is Zimbra?<br />Unix based e-mail and collaboration server<br />Makes use of Postfix, Jetty, MySQL, ClamAV and other open source projects<br />Enhanced AJAX web interface<br />Can integrate with AD for authentication<br />Powerful command line facility for account provisioning and administration<br />Horizontally scalable, add servers to support more load<br />Offers Zimlets, or plugins, to offer new functionality and an API to develop your own<br />Open source license, can download and use the server for free without support, licensed features<br />Also offers Zimbra Desktop, a desktop e-mail client<br />

Licensed Features<br />Built in backup facility, dumps flat file storage of data to a disk location, configurable number of days/weeks/months of backups to keep<br />Outlook Connector plugin, makes server smell like Exchange; keeps mail, contacts, calendar, tasks in sync with server<br />Mobile integration licenses for ActiveSync<br />E-mail and phone support, X number of tickets per year<br />Server clustering<br />Allows re-branding of the site logos<br />
