    Using Online Unit / Stage Evaluation Forms in Blackboard - Presentation Transcript

    1. online unit / stage evaluations using the Blackboard-based alternative to paper forms Blended Learning Advisor Academic Development Unit
    2. why?
    3. to obtain feedback from students about the successes / weaknesses of a unit or stage
    4. improve the curriculum
    5. identify improvements in learning / teaching methods
    6. provide content for ACR (Annual Course Review) reports!
    7. how?
    8. the form is a ‘Survey’, which is available in every unit or stage area on Blackboard
    9. 4 stage process: put it in place make it visible tell students to fill it in view the results
    10. put the form in place
    11. go to an area where the form is to be placed (for students to find it) ep 1 s t
    12. click ‘Edit View’ ep 2 s t
    13. choose ‘Survey’ from the Select pulldown menu ep 3 s t
    14. click ‘Go’ ep 4 s t
    15. select the evaluation form from the list ep 5 s t
    16. click ‘Submit’ ep 6 s t
    17. click ‘OK’ ep 7 s t
    18. making the form visible
    19. click ‘Modify Test Options’* ep 1 s t * to see this: click ‘Modify’ by the form item you have made
    20. change ‘Make the link available’ to “Yes” ep 2 s t
    21. click ‘Submit’ ep 3 s t
    22. click ‘OK’ ep 4 s t
    23. getting students to fill it in
    24. use an announcement, with a direct link to the form...
    25. in the same area as the form, click ‘Control Panel’ ep 1 s t
    26. click ‘Announcements’ ep 2 s t
    27. click ‘Add Announcement’ ep 3 s t
    28. write a message (i.e. “Use the link below to provide feedback...”) ep 4 s t
    29. click ‘Browse’ (by ‘Course Link’) ep 5 s t
    30. in the new window that appears, locate* and click on the form item ep 6 s t * use the ‘+’ icon to open up areas / folders
    31. click ‘Submit’ ep 7 s t
    32. click ‘OK’ ep 8 s t
    33. viewing the results of the feedback
    34. ratings and feedback from completed forms are calculated and collated automatically...
    35. in the same area as the form, click ‘Control Panel’ ep 1 s t
    36. click ‘Grade Center’ ep 2 s t
    37. locate the column that relates to the evaluation form ep 3 (the same name)* s t * if necessary, scroll right using the bottom scrollbar
    38. 4 click and choose ep s t ‘Attempt Statistics’
