    Using Google Scholar Tools in Blackboard - Presentation Transcript

    2. results limited to ‘academic’ sources (articles, theses, publishers, societies...)
    3. academic articles (‘Content’) or live* keyword results (‘Search’) [ * automatically updated ]

    5. tutor-led starting point for internet searching [ encourages students to focus on academic results ]
    6. prevents manual maintenance of individual links [ Blackboard/Google updates the list automatically ]
    7. multiple sources are provided [ links to ‘dead’ webpages are reduced ]

    20. link to a specific academic article
    21. go to the area in Blackboard where the link to the article 1 should be displayed p e t s
    22. click ‘Edit View’ 2 p e t s
    23. choose ‘Google Scholar Content’ from the Select pulldown 3 menu p e t s
    24. click ‘Go’ 4 p e t s [ this will open a new browser window for Google Scholar ]
    25. type in a search word or phrase, and locate a specific 5 article/reference* p e t s [ only blue underlined titles signify full readable content ]
    26. click the ‘Import into Blackboard’ text at the base of the individual 6 article’s reference p e t s
    27. ✹ nal) (optio click ‘Back to Google Search results’ to add further references to 7 Blackboard p e t s [ articles associated with the same word/phrase in Step 5 ]
