  • 2. The Mouth
    • Just imagine, as you are innocently eating a bagel, a whole entire process was taking place inside your body. The processes are known as Chemical and Mechanical digestion .
  • 3. Teeth
    • Your teeth begins the process by crushing, tearing, and ripping the bagel apart--until the wheat is simplified into its nutrient form, carbohydrates.

    • After the “ bolus ” (food) passes the trachea, it shoots down the food tube, the esophagus .
    • Some people believe it can shoot down the esophagus because of gravity, but this is a myth .

    • The pancreas can make enzymes to simplify carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids
