The Main Aims of Forming AHRDO <ul><li>Monitor and document </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>all human rights, environmental and cultural abuses in Arakan State </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Promote the development of the Arakanese people </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>through education in/outside Arakan (i.e. Thailand, Malaysia, etc.) </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Inform the local and international communities about: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>the human rights abuses in Arakan State </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>the impacts of development projects </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>(e.g. Shwe Gas Pipelines Project, Kaladan Project, etc.) </li></ul></ul></ul>

Vision of AHRDO <ul><li>AHRDO envisages development in Arakan: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>which benefits the least advantaged people </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>protects ecosystems </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>mitigates negative environmental impacts </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>respects cultural and historic sites </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>These principles will be best upheld within a free and full democratic Federal Union of Burma that respects human rights, equality and justice.   </li></ul></ul>
