SHAKESPEARE 26 April 1564 (baptised) – 23 April 1616 He was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the worlds pre-eminent dramatist. Shakespeare was born and brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children. Two other plays written by him are Othello and Hamlet.

ROMEO & JULIETPLOT: It’s a romantic anddramatic story between twoyoung people Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by WilliamShakespeare in 1597, It’s about, two young people that fall in love but they can’t be together because their families are enemies and they have to meet in secret.. Romeo is the son of Montagues family and Juliet is the daughter of Capulets family

  5. 5. CHARACTERS ROMEO Romeo was a Montague and he was about sixteen years old. He was also intelligent and handsome.
  6. 6. JULIETJuliet was a Capulet. Shewas thirteen years old, shewas pretty and veryobedient.
  7. 7. WHERE DOES THESTORY HAPPEN? This romantic story happens in Italy, Verona.
  8. 8. This version was directed by GeorgeCukor in 1936 and stars Leslie Howardand Norma Shearer in the leading roles.
  9. 9. FILMS This version was directed by Baz Luhrmann in 1996 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in the leading roles.
  10. 10. OUR OPINION To us this is a fantastic play, and we would recommend it because we loveromantic stories like this, the order of the events are perfect and the way to explain, too. When we finished to read this play, we knew why its very successful. Shakespeare is a genius for us and we are thinking to read more plays written by him.
