KAPPA CHAPTER UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN Kappa Chapter—University of Nebraska-Lincoln Strategic Plan 2010 Vision Statement To be the premier fraternity building values, leadership, skills, and relationships for lifelong personal and professional success for men of diverse careers in a common industry. Brotherhood Goal Statement: To have an environment that fosters personal growth, trust, and respect that builds lifelong relationships among brothers through common experiences.  Enhance our Brotherhood/Membership Development program o Bi-monthly “What Brotherhood is to me”  Membership Development/NR (Announce and Implement Fall Semester 2010)  Input from all brothers-defer new ideas/issues to the Executive Committee immediately after it is brought up o Noble Ruler (Ongoing)  Recognize Brothers for displaying achieving Brotherhood (i.e.-5 Orders) o Membership Development (Educate/Implement Beginning of Fall 2010-ND State) Professional Development Goal Statement: To motivate and prepare Brothers for career success by providing them with opportunities to network, learn and grow.  Refer Members to Career Services for mock interviews o Membership Development, New Member Educator (Semesterly-2 weeks before career fairs)  Alumni professional database developed by either calling lists or postcard o Alumni Relations (Pink Rose call list, Crescent, postcards, website)  Update undergraduate database of internships held and available o Membership Development (End of each Spring semester)  Host a resume workshop o Membership Development (Every September)  Invite Alumni to Meeting to discuss professional development o Alumni Relations (Fall 2010)

KAPPA CHAPTER UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN Involvement Goal Statement: To foster an atmosphere that instills a desire for Brothers to be actively engaged in social, community and scholastic organizations both on and off campus.  Create an additional incentive to be a part of organizations o Scholarship/Membership Development (First Executive Meeting of Fall 2010)  Designate a member of the Alumni Board to be responsible recruiting Alumni to become involved with the Alumni Board, attend Chapter events, provide assistance when needed. o Noble Ruler/Alumni Relations/Alumni President (First Alumni Meeting of Fall 2010)  Give recognition to the Alumni and Foundation Board through presentation of gifts o Noble Ruler (Annually, Beginning First Saturday of March 2011) Facilities Goal Statement: To have the best possible environment for housing, scholarship and growth by continually maintaining our existing structure, while planning to build premier facilities. Image Goal Statement: To brand the image of leadership and values of Alpha Gamma Rho on campus, in the community and in the field of agriculture.  Via news releases, inform communities about AGR events, accomplishments, etc. o Public Relations, Housemother (As events occur)  Review the Covenant and its meaning to Chapter o New Member Education (Twice per Semester)  Facilitate a “meet-and-greet” seminar for the Chapter o Social Chairs (Second Week of Fall 2010) Leadership Goal Statement: To develop leadership by teaching Brothers how to lead, follow and listen.  Delegate more responsibilities to Non-Executive Officers o Executive Officers (Designate who will be working with whom immediately, implement Beginning of Fall 2010)  Develop leadership through the Big Brother program (workshop) o Alumni Relations/Recruitment  Facilitate leadership workshops with Alumni o Advisors (Annually, Beginning of Fall 2010)

KAPPA CHAPTER UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN Recruitment Goal Statement: To recruit new members from diverse fields of agriculture who represent the values and integrity of Alpha Gamma Rho.  Re-Evaluate Game Plan o Recruitment (Annually, Prior to State FFA Convention)  Establish annual recruitment goal o Recruitment/Executive Committee (Annually, Prior to March 15)  Develop set of expectations for recruits o New Member Education (Re-Evaluate Annually, Prior to March 15) Scholarship Goal Statement: To have a system in place that encourages and enables members to maximize scholastic success.  Teach study habits to new members o Scholarship (Annually, Beginning of Fall Semester)  Achieve a 3.20 House GPA o Scholarship (Semesterly)  Teach Freshmen how to utilize University websites-MyRed, etc. o Big Brothers/New Member Education (Annually, Beginning of Fall Semester)  Re-Evaluate and create new incentive programs for scholarship o Scholarship (Fall of 2010)  Cycle out old computers o Computer Chairs (Summer of 2010)
