  3. 3. What is Etsy• A brief history • Started in 2006 by Robert Kalin, Chris Maguire and Haim Schoppik • Maria Thomas of NPR joined in 2008 • 2010 sales went from $180 million to $314 million • Has expanded from a company of 4 individauals to a staff of 63

  5. 5. What is Etsy• Comparable to Ebay, but the company has cultivated a very different feel• Community based• "When you get an item from Etsy, theres this whole history behind it," Kalin said. "Theres a person behind it."
