3. 3. Introduction

Integrating technology into classroom instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class.

Effective tech integration must happen across the curriculum in ways that research shows deepen and enhance the learning process. In particular, it must support four key components of learning: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts.

Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is routine and transparent and when technology supports curricular goals.

    4. 4.

Technology also changes the way teachers teach, offering educators effective ways to reach different types of learners and assess student understanding through multiple means. It also enhances the relationship between teacher and student.

When technology is effectively integrated into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser, content expert, and coach. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun. Technology Integration | Edutopia

Cont. Introduction
    5. 5. What is digital video?

Digital video is a type of video recording system that works by using a digital rather than an analog video signal.

The terms camera, video camera, and camcorder are used interchangeably.

Digital media electronic media used to store, transmit, and receive digitized information.

    6. 6.

Gain opportunities for higher level thinking when producing their own digital video clips.

Brings a new and exciting dimension to education.

Huge opportunities for learning within a school and for global collaboration between students and teachers via the Internet.

Editing small video clips gives powerful sense of learning and accomplishment on the part of students.

Being able to edit digital video will give you the power to enhance, enrich and expand your lessons.

Giving students this ability will open a new world of possibilities as they explore and synthesize what they are learning with astounding creations.

Using of Digital Video

    8. 8.

Now that it is possible to work with digital video in classroom, it is also important to realize that there are also lots of good reasons why you should.

The most obvious is motivational; students (including boys) enjoy working with it. The medium is relevant and ‘real world’ for students and this is reflected in the time and effort they put into the work. Digital Video

Video projects also lend themselves naturally to meaningful group work assignments and genuine cross-curricular learning.

Digital Video in the classroom
    9. 9.

Some evidence that multimedia can increase motivation initially, but that motivation can fade over time (Najjar, 1998).

It is important that the learners be self-motivated in order for this type of learning to continue to enhance learning.

Self-motivated overachievers have a desire to learn for their own personal or professional growth.

supports that learners learn best through multimodal rather than unimodal learning (Stansbury, 2008).

Most people learn best through different modes of learning.

BBC NEWS | UK | Education | Using digital video to enhance learning

What does Multimedia do to learners?
    10. 10.

Multimedia in the online classroom can enhance learning if used appropriately.

It is important to be an expert in your field and use multimedia to channel this expertise but not over stimulate the learner.

Using multimedia has not only enhanced learning but it has kept students focused and on task.

The pencil and paper note-taking traditional classroom has transformed into a multimedia highly motivational cyber-course.

Multimedia & Technology
    11. 11.

Knowing how to create appropriate multimedia lessons should be based on what is known about how people learn.

Most people learn best through different modes of learning. Visuals accompanied with audio can be much more effective than audio alone or visuals alone.

Therefore, the use of media and digital video enhance learning in various ways when use appropriately.

Conclusion
