  2. 2. The Studio Intro <ul><li>The purpose of a studio introduction is to give a summary of the story. </li></ul><ul><li>You cover the Who, What, When, Where and Why </li></ul><ul><li>You leave the how and other info to the reporter in the field </li></ul>
  3. 3. Let’s look at an example <ul><li>Let’s choose something from Macbeth </li></ul><ul><li>Prince Malcolm (Duncan’s son) scampered to England to gather an army to retake the throne </li></ul><ul><li>So your studio intro about this may go something like … </li></ul>
  4. 4. Malcolm in England! <ul><li>Scottish Prince Malcolm arrived in England today to rally troops and support for his bid to retake the Scottish throne, usurped by Macbeth after the murder of King Duncan last week. In a move to anger some lords, the English have agreed to support Prince Malcolm in his fight and King Duffy pledged ten thousand men to the cause. </li></ul>

Break it down, homie! <ul><li>Who: Prince Malcolm </li></ul><ul><li>What: Arrived in England </li></ul><ul><li>When: Today </li></ul><ul><li>Where: England – London I’d assume </li></ul><ul><li>Why: To rally troops to retake Scot throne </li></ul><ul><li>How: An English Army of 10,000 men </li></ul>
