Study of Next Generation Grid Computing Architecture Au Yeong Wing Yau Supervisor: Kishore Sakhakar
Introduction
Globus 3.x to be based on the paper “Physiology of the Grid” .
Web services technologies has many valuable tools, including XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, etc.
A merge of Web and Grid services technologies is proposed for the next generation grid architecture.
Globus 3.x to be built around Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA).
Progress and Status
Study of the proposed OGSA and OGSI.
Study of Web services and its related technologies, including but not limited to XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, WSIL, Apache Axis, WS-Security etc.
Experimental deployment of Web services clients and providers.
Study of Community Authorization Service (CAS).
Future work
Study of the proposed OGSI Java RTE and Container.
Continuous monitor and update from constantly evolving Web services technologies and OGSA specifications, including building up test samples for reference.
Main aim is to be ready for Globus 3.x. The roadmap has already been laid out, and an alpha release is proposed for the end of 2002.
