  • 2. HISPANIC DAY, 12 th of October
      • Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in ¿Genoa? 1451 - Valladolid, 20 th of May in 1506 . His parents were Domenico Colombo and Susana Fontanarrosa. He was a sailar and he wanted to reach India by another way.
      • During many years, he was asking for the money. The Catholic Monarchs Isabel and Ferdinand financed Columbus travels. When he got the enough money, he started this important voyage.

  • 3. THE DISCOVERY
    • He reached land on the 12th of October.
    • He made four voyages.
    • His first expedition departed on the 3rd of August in 1492.
  • 4.
    • The 12 th of October is a very
    • important Festivity in Spain.
    • During the dictatorship on this day, it was celebrated “ THE HISPANIC DAY”. Later it was called “THE COLORCAST DAY”
    • It’s a National Day. It’s “The Civil Guard Day”, A popular military parade l takes palce on the 12th of October, featuring attendance by government and the royal family .
    • It’s the most important day in ZARAGOZA, a Spanish city in the Northeast of Spain. “THE VIRGIN OF PILAR DAY”
    Zaragoza’s Cathedral is called “EL PILAR”
  • 5. OUR CONSTITUTION DAY, the 6 th of December
    • From 1978 (when our Constitution was voted for spanish people), we celebrate our
    • In Spain, each Community celebrates its ”Community Day”
    • The 28 th of February is our Community Day.

  • 6. NATIONAL DAY or CONSTITUTION DAY, 6th of DECEMBER NOWDAYS, IT IS OUR MOST IMPORTANT NATIONAL FESTIVITY. Every year, all students and teachers build together an original flag with YELLOW and RED
  • 7. ANDALUSIAN DAY
  • 8. WHAT DO WE EAT?
    • We celebrate Andalusian Day with our students in different ways:
    • We eat bread with oil and some salt.
  • 9. WHY DO WE CELEBRATE ANDALUSIAN DAY?
    • Because it commemorates
    • the referendum of the '80
    • years, when we have full
    • autonomy to the region of
    • Andalusia. We have an
    • Andalusian Constitution.

  • 11. STUDENTS MADE HANDCRAFTS FOR OUR COMENIUS PARTNERSHIPS

  • 12. TYPICAL CLOTHING
    • In the Andalusian day women wear a long dress with frills.
    • And men wear black trousers, whith a white shirt and black hat.

    • Spain. At our
    • school, our
    • students usually

    • Handcrafts.
  • 16. TRADITION, RELIGION AND FOLK HOLY WEEK IN ANDALUSIA. Many posters are designed each Holy Week MALAGA
  • 17. HOLY THURSDAY & FRIDAY
  • 18. FLAMENCO SONG FOR HOLY WEEK: SAETA
    • The Saeta is a song of Catholic Spain dating back many centuries. The old Saeta probably arose from the recitation of psalms under the influence of litugical music. Since the nineteenth century, however, the most favored Saetas have incorporated distinct elements associated with flamenco, particularly the siguiriyas. The singer may also be accompanied by beating drums, or by horns. The Saeta is sung often from a balcony, and may be addressed to the statue of Jesus.
