  • Most of the information is poorly researched. Married women were not simply looked down upon they were not given jobs at all because it was assumed that if her husband had a job then he could support the family. Women not only had to take care of the house and children but they would stand outside all day looking form people to hire them to do housework for a mere 20 cents an hour. 1932-33 saw one of the highest increases in birthrate . Women did not want to bring children into a family that could not support them but there were laws against female birth control so this made it difficult. If you are looking for real information in women's history read 'Major Problems in American Women's History' 4th edition By: Mary Beth Norton and Ruth M, Alexander.
