Many people feel that security is “someone else’s job”. In these times, it is important that we all make sure that we are keeping our assets, co-workers and business safe. In this seminar, you will learn about some of the important things that you should consider when building security protocols and what you can take forward as a “security ambassador” to accomplish your organizations security goals. The seminar will also touch on what options are available and several technologies that can assist when determining what is important to you including intrusion detection, access control, IP/Analog video and verified versus non verified audio and video detection.

    • Agenda Many people feel that security is “someone else’s job”. In these times, it is important that we all make sure that we are keeping our assets, co- workers and business safe.
    • What do you need to think about to secure your organization? • A LOT! • How you can affect change • What can you do individually to help • Everybody plays • In the end, there is no bad solution, only ones that can be flexible to meet changing needs
    • Security is not just a burglar alarm anymore • In the past, having a simple burglar or fire alarm was viewed as sufficient protection. • In today’s climate, there are many other factors associated with protecting assets, employees, investments and businesses. • Those areas include:
    • Loss Prevention Solutions including video solutions, access control, verified video solutions work well to help provide solid protection.
    • Fire Prevention
    • Access Control
    • Environmental Control
    • Temperature Control
    • Video Solutions
    • Analog versus IP Cameras
    • Partnership for Priority Video Alarm Response PPVAR was established to educate all electronic security stakeholders on the value of video to verify alarm activity during the dispatch process and ultimately reduce false alarms and increase apprehension rates for burglar alarm customers
    • Partnership for Priority Video Alarm Response Why are Verified alarms video so important? A quicker response is the better response, especially when it comes to intruders. Priority Response is a process adopted by law enforcement and dispatch teams. It means that video-verified alarms are seen as crimes in progress, and police are immediately sent to the scene. Not only does it reinforce the value of video alarm systems, but it also benefits the entire community with: • Better protection for customers. • Better information for law officers responding to potentially dangerous situations. • Fewer losses and reduced payouts for insurers. • And… more arrests, more consistently.
    • Non Verified Video, DVR based • Video is reviewed after the fact • If this was a verified video solution, Central Monitoring station would have dispatched to the scene at detection of verified alarm • Verified video would generate a priority response • Better chance of apprehension
