*The naïve conclusion is that… to achieve rationality
(including super optimality) we will have to infinitely
maximise all three
* Data/info/knowledge
* Models/techniques
* Purpose
*But empirically that’s not true…
* Not does just the Law of Diminishing Returns kicks in
* It also reverse minimizes the need of others when you
maximise one
*This basically gives us 3 Prime options to achieve
Super Optimality (see next 3 slides)

*If you increasingly maximise
Data/Information/Knowledge
*You need lesser and lesser of Models/Techniques &
Purpose
*This basically means if you study the entire
population extensively, you don’t need extremely
elaborate techniques and the simplest of purpose to
take optimal decisions and create an impact
*This has been extensively and sufficiently proved
with Big Data
*
* Empirically
* If you increasingly maximise Techniques
* You need lesser and lesser of Data/Information/Knowledge & Purpose
* This basically means that when you have very less
data/information/knowledge you develop more and more elaborate
techniques without any context of Purpose
* So you make excessive techniques for any purpose you can possibly
anticipate, and with very little data at your disposal to take optimal
decisions
* This is how traditionally the scientific community progressed till
now…
* With very little knowledge of the universe around us to start with we
developed and used extremely sophisticated techniques and
unravelled the world one step at a time.
* Again this has been proven enough over the last 1000 or so years.

* Empirically
* If you increasingly maximise Purpose
* You need lesser and lesser of Models/Techniques &
Data/Information/Knowledge
* There have been situations including where we don’t know why we
exist, or had any data or techniques at our disposal…
* We found purpose and used very little data and techniques to
achieve super optimality in decisions.
* This is the area which forms the new age… within those domains
where lots of data and techniques exist and we still need further
super optimality
* Or within domains where the data and techniques absolutely don’t
exist and we need super optimality
* When the Purpose is absolutely absolutely clear the choices and
decisions are Trivial!!!

* So the obvious question is which of the 3 Prime’s is the most super
optimal?
* The empirical results are actually not very contrarian… and they start like
this…
* There is a limit to data that we can have at our disposal…
* There is also a very strong limit to what models and techniques we can
develop and deploy
* But… But… But… there is actually no inherent limit to any Purpose we can
conceive and adopt for ourselves…
* And purpose derives from our Discretion which makes us very Powerful

* Conclusion: The Purpose Prime Super Optimality is the best of any kind of
super optimality…
* And Purpose Prime Super Optimality is limited only by our Imagination and
Discretion (And temporally by the world resources and consensus)

  • 10. * * Empirically * If you increasingly maximise Purpose * You need lesser and lesser of Models/Techniques & Data/Information/Knowledge * There have been situations including where we don’t know why we exist, or had any data or techniques at our disposal… * We found purpose and used very little data and techniques to achieve super optimality in decisions. * This is the area which forms the new age… within those domains where lots of data and techniques exist and we still need further super optimality * Or within domains where the data and techniques absolutely don’t exist and we need super optimality * When the Purpose is absolutely absolutely clear the choices and decisions are Trivial!!!
  • 11. * * So the obvious question is which of the 3 Prime’s is the most super optimal? * The empirical results are actually not very contrarian… and they start like this… * There is a limit to data that we can have at our disposal… * There is also a very strong limit to what models and techniques we can develop and deploy * But… But… But… there is actually no inherent limit to any Purpose we can conceive and adopt for ourselves… * And purpose derives from our Discretion which makes us very Powerful (Ref: The Power Play Deck) * Conclusion: The Purpose Prime Super Optimality is the best of any kind of super optimality… * And Purpose Prime Super Optimality is limited only by our Imagination and Discretion (And temporally by the world resources and consensus)
