  • 1. LOVE ONE ANOTHER 2
  • 2. John 15:9-17 (NLT)
    • 9 "I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.
    • 10 When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.
  • 3. John 15:9-17 (NLT)
    • 11 I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
    • 12 I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.
  • 4. John 15:9-17 (NLT)
    • 13 And here is how to measure it—the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.
    • 14 You are my friends if you obey me.
  • 5. John 15:9-17 (NLT)
    • 15 I no longer call you servants, because a master doesn't confide in his servants. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
  • 6. John 15:9-17 (NLT)
    • 16 You didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
    • 17 I command you to love each other.
  • 7. 1 John 4:7-11 (NLT)
    • 7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
    • 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God—for God is love.
  • 8. 1 John 4:7-11 (NLT)
    • 9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
  • 9. 1 John 4:7-11 (NLT)
    • 10 This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
    • 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.
  • 10. John 15:12
    • 12 I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.
  • 11.
    • How does God love us?
  • 12. He loves us unconditionally.
    • Romans 5:8 (NLT) 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
  • 13. He loves us forever.
    • Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT) 3 Long ago the LORD said to Israel: "I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
  • 14. He loves us by forgiving us all our wrongs (sins).
    • 1 John 1:9 (NLT) 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.
  • 15. Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT)
    • 4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much,
    • 5 that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's special favor that you have been saved!)
  • 16. He loves us beyond our understanding!
    • Ephesians 3:17-19 (NLT) 17 And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.
  • 17. Ephesians 3:17-19 (NLT)
    • 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
  • 18. God commands us to imitate Him!
    • Ephesians 5:1-2 (NLT) 1 Follow God's example in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2 Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins.
  • 19. How then
    • does God expect us
    • to love each other?
  • 20. He expects us to love each other unconditionally.
    • Luke 6:27-37 (NLT) 27 "But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. 28 Pray for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.
  • 21. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT)
    • 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other cheek. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.
    • 30 Give what you have to anyone who asks you for it; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back.
  • 22. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT)
    • 31 Do for others as you would like them to do for you.
    • 32 "Do you think you deserve credit merely for loving those who love you? Even the sinners do that!
    • 33 And if you do good only to those who do good to you, is that so wonderful? Even sinners do that much!
  • 23. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT)
    • 34 And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, what good is that? Even sinners will lend to their own kind for a full return.
  • 24. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT)
    • 35 "Love your enemies! Do good to them! Lend to them! And don't be concerned that they might not repay. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are wicked
  • 25. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT)
    • 36 You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
    • 37 "Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. Stop criticizing others, or it will all come back on you. If you forgive others, you will be forgiven.
  • 26. He expects us to love each other by forgiving each other of all our wrongs (sins).
    • Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT) 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior.
    • 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
  • 27. He expects us to love each other by serving each other.
    • Galatians 5:13-14 (NLT) 13 For you have been called to live in freedom—not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
  • 28. Love for others is the test of a “Christian”.
    • John 13:35 (NLT) 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
  • 29. Love for others is “proof” that we love God!
    • 1 John 4:20-21 (NLT) 20 If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen? 21 And God himself has commanded that we must love not only him but our Christian brothers and sisters, too.
