INTRODUCTION If quantity of movies were to be considered as the yardstick to measure the success of “make believe “ industry, Hollywood and Bollywood ought have taken a bow as a sign of respect for real ingenuity of Nigerians within a very short time. The universe in the mind of the Nigerians, whether on stage or on screen, has always been captivating.
  3. 3. INTRODUCTION contd. Little wonder the whole world seen the Nigerian movie industry -popularly known as NOLLYWOOD as a money spinning after crude oil. Today, Nigerian cinematography/videography industry parades the best hands (cast & crew) from pre to post production. Subsequently, we have identified the need to showcase this galaxy of talents to the whole world, in a unique way that has never been done .
  4. 4. INTRODUCTION contd. The need to showcase the enormous works put together by Nigerian film/movie makers brings about the concept of this programme- Close up nollywood. The programme shall focus on the Nigerian movie makers across the tribe viz; actors / actresses/ behind-the-scene talents etc. It will unearth their ingenuities, professionalism, latent talent, and various life styles both on and outside movie locations.

It is an expose of a constructive mediated reality and reality itself. </li></ul><ul><li>Close up as a shot description is meant to give a detailed information ,without leaving the audience guessing. </li></ul><ul><li>This we believe will straight records on rumours making rounds on Nigerian stars and how they manage stardom. </li></ul>

This particular segment will showcase the idiosyncrasies and artistry of the talent in front of the camera and his/her director. </li></ul><ul><li>This segment will enable the viewers to see the technicalities, professionalism and stress involved in interpreting a role convincingly. </li></ul>

The main objective of this segment is to remind viewers of the advent of the Nigerian film/movie industry, the founding fathers and the techniques used back in the days. A critical comparison would be made between the past and the present state of the industry to know what should be adopted and what should be improved upon. </li></ul>

Cut aways <ul><li>cut aways (special guest), is an interview segment of Close up nollywood. which parades Academia in the fields of film, theatre, mass communication etc. </li></ul><ul><li>This is a wedding of the Town and Gown-the Academia are allowed to add their professional input into the industry. </li></ul>
  14. 14. Off set <ul><li>off set (game), is the fun time segment of Close up nollywood . The talent in focus is allowed to play his / her favorite game, wherever it may be, to the admiration of his/ her fans. </li></ul><ul><li>This segment shows how the talent unwind and spend his or her leisure time. </li></ul>
  15. 15. I can act <ul><li>I can act (a date with an angel) is the Corporate Social Responsibilities {CSR} scheme of Close up nollywood. In this segment, viewers who participate actively, through dedicated SMS numbers that would be provided by the producer, will have a dinner outing with the talent in focus. This outing will be recorded and showed in the subsequent episode. </li></ul>
