    • What does Technology include in ELT ? AIDS: resources & equipment in the classroom. Video recorder cassette recorder realia Overhead projector Visual Aids blackboard
    • What is the importance of the use of Technology? It is important:  To cope with a world full of technology  To speed up learning  To enhance students´ learning.  To speak in the same lingo that our students But always remember:  WE ARE TEACHING ENGLISH, NOT TECHNOLOGY
    • ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES of the USE OF TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES  More active learning  Equipment failures  Diversified teaching methods  Need for back-up plans  Better student attention  Anxiety for professors  Less time and energy for  Time spent learning new professors  Visual stimulation  It motivates to use English in the daily life  Provides functional communicative experiences technologies all the time.  Resources are not always available.  Constant Obsolescence of devices.
    • TECHNOLOGY IS PART OF A GENRE: RESOURCES
    • THE RESOURCES PYRAMID.  PEOPLE  REAL LIFE  BLACKBOARD  PAPER &PENS  WHITEBOARDS, BOOKS. T  AUDIO, PHOTOCOPIES, OHP  LANGUAGE LABORATORIES  VIDEOS COMPUTERS,  POWER POINT.
    • A PIECE OF ADVICE.  TECHNOLOGY should not include all teaching and learning activities.  TECHNOLOGY should not replace real teaching and learning environment, such as language classroom and real-life communication.  HOWEVER, it implies advantages that often out weigh the disadvantages.  WE should see Technology as a TOOL to help us in whatever approach and technique we have chosen to use.
    • BONUS SLIDE: DOODLING / INTERNET.  INTERNET: **INTERNET USE INCREASES LANGUAGE USE AND ACQUISITION OF SECOND LANGUATE. **INTERACTION IN LANGUAGE HELPS LEARNERS GAIN INPUT IN LANGUAGE LEARNING PROCESS. **IT INCREASES SYNCHRONOUS COMMUNICATION OF ESL LARNERS **IT MOTIVATES LEARNERS TO USE ENGLISH IN THEIR DAILY LIVES **IT PROVIDES FUNCTIONAL COMMUNICATIVE EXPERIENCES.
    • DOODLING.  DEFINITION: A drawing made absent-mindedly.  You can draw on top of the media as you record your     comment (using mic, webcam, or keyboard). Video Doodling feature allows you to control the playback of a video. It helps show viewers your thoughts in action while watching a video.
