    2. The History of MUSIC
      • MUSIC is a part of every culture varying in tone, rhythm & depth. Its start cannot be traced to any one point in time but is believed to have originated in Africa where the first humans are known to have emerged from, thus it has been in existence for some 50, 000+ years. Think about your culture, does the music differ from other cultures? Each cultures music is influenced by many aspects of their social life including access to technology & religion. In the western world we strongly depend it for different types of entertainment purposes; we listen to the radio while in the car or in our room, we go dancing & buy tickets for concerts among other things. Music can also be a type of healing process for some; listening to music while falling asleep or listening to music that strongly affects our feelings at a given moment. Music is thus not only used for entertainment but for healing and religious purposes as well.

    5. The History of DANCE
      • Dance is a part of every culture varying in its style. Its start cannot be traced back to any one point in time partly because it does not leave any traces behind although with today’s modern technology we are able to do so through recording using digital cameras & film. Dance is an important aspect of life, one which we may not necessarily realize in our western culture. In many cultures and their religions, dance has been & still is an important part of ceremonies & rituals & celebrations such as in weddings. To us in the western world, we strongly depend on it for entertainment.
