  • I’m going to start with some quick information about myself and Mashable and then we’ll get straight into the Top 10 Tips…
  • Elaborate on Events MashMeets = Networking events…. Any questions or interested in jobs, feel free to email me
  • Started in 2005 by Pete Cashmore in Scotland Completely self-funded company 2006 = Social Networks 2007 = Resources and lists posts (like “20 ways to claim your identity online” to “30 games to play while bored at work” to “30 Social Networks that aggregate your feeds”… The Mashable team grows by 4 people, including me and 3 writers, 2 of which are still writing today I created our First Events… called “MashMeets” here in NYC and DC… but soon people wanted to have more I created the “Open Web Awards” an online competition, which was rebranded this year as the “4 th Annual Mashable Awards” 2008 = More Events (DC, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Israel, SF, etc)… our team beings to grow as does social networks and the beginning of social media 2009 = Rebrand as the Social Media Guide.. Twitter becomes huge Celebrities, Politicians, News makers, breaking news from Iran YouTube and Facebook growth exponentially as well Mashable Team doubles our growth and team 2010 = 5 – 6x Growth since I first joined Mashable Removed Social Media Guide branding 3 - 4x growth from 2009
  • 9.7 Million Unique Visitors PER MONTH
  • Our Coverage Scope Recently added Social Good Soon to change. Stay tuned for some big changes to Mashable ;)
  • Dual Audience Split amongst the age groups Audience identified as Engaged and Influencers
  • 3 Webby Awards Syndicated on CNN.com/Tech, USA Today, Yahoo! News, ABCNews and a few other portals and news sites
  • Over 4 million total followers on Social Networks Most #’s have jumped already since I put the slides together… - Facebook Likes (not “Fans”)
