    32. Promoting Overdrive on the Radio Alachua County Library District – Re-discover Your Library :60 script Male & Female friends in conversation: A: How can you afford to download so much music? You have a new playlist almost every week. Doesn’t it get expensive? B: Are you kidding? I download my music for free at the library. A: At the library? B: Yeah, they’ve got lots of great features on their website! I download audio-books and music to my mp3 player, e-books and movies to my laptop, and whenever I have a question, but don’t know where to look for answers, I use their “Ask a Librarian” Instant Message service. A: It sounds fab, but I can’t spend all day in the library downloading the newest best- seller. B: No Worries! You can get an e-card and download everything from home. You can also create your own booklists, write reviews, and receive email reminders for upcoming events. A: Wow! I guess the library does have way more than just books. Male Announcer: Re-discover all the ways your library can inspire you. Visit one of the 11 Alachua County Library District locations or visit us online at www.aclib.us. That’s aclib.us. The Alachua County Library District… thinking outside the book!
    33. Promoting Overdrive at the Alachua County Library District • ACLD’s primary goal in promoting Overdrive is to provide a variety of ways to “get the word out” about digital products available at the library. • A focus on staff training creates better informed staff, and greater customer service! • Utilizing Social Networking sites for promoting digital products, allows the library to talk to the digital users on their turf. • Creating tools to help patrons access and use Overdrive will keep them coming back for more! • Partnering with local organizations opens doors to demographics we might not have been able to reach previously.
