Thinking outside the book with new online features: Enhanced Holds

Take control on when and where you receive your holds.
Suspend your holds while you’re on vacation, and activate them when you return.
Continue to move up in the holds queue, and don’t worry about losing your place in line.
Manage multiple holds to ensure you don’t receive all of your holds at one time.
Suspend all of your holds at once, or one at a time.
Customize your account based upon your needs.

On the homepage of the eBranch ( www.aclib.us ) click on the My Account Link.

On the My Account page click on the Review My Account Link.

Enter your library card number and pin and click on Display User Information button. Note: The default pin # is the last 4 digits of your library card #.

On your account page click on the Holds tab. The status column will show if the items on reserve have been suspended. The list of your current holds/reserves will appear with title, availability of title, pickup location, expiration, & status.

Starting out the status of all holds will default to an active status. Looking at the above list you may want to suspend or change the location of the last two holds in the list because your position in the holds queue is #1 for both, however you have selected different locations for each title.

To update the status of your holds Scroll Down to the bottom of the page. Click on Suspend Selected and choose the dates to start and end the suspension of the item. Click on the boxes next to the titles you want to change the status.

When you click on the date boxes a Calendar Popup Box will appear to help you select your dates. NOTE: You can select specific dates to start and end the suspension, or you can select a start date and leave the end date open. You can always come back later and update the dates as needed.

When you scroll back up to your Outstanding Holds List the status column will be updated. Inactive status indicates the item is suspended but no end date was chosen. So the item is suspended indefinitely. Suspended status will show the exact dates selected for the title suspension.
