    • Downloading eBooks to your Nook Color or Nook Tablet (with wireless access) Using OverDrive with the Alachua County Library District
    • Download the OverDrive Media Console app from the app store. It is free.
    • Open OverDrive Media Console. Touch the menu at the bottom.
    • Touch App Settings at the bottom of the screen.
    • To authorize your device, you need an Adobe ID. If you don’t already have one, touch Get a free Adobe ID.
    • The browser opens to the page for Adobe account creation. Fill out the required fields and click Create.
    • Once you have finished signing up for an Adobe ID, return to the OverDrive app to Authorize.
    • Touch the menu button and then the Get Books button.
    • Touch Add a Library at the bottom of the screen.
    • Search for your library by entering Alachua County Library District or your zip code.
    • Select the library from the list.
    • Tap the star beside the library to make it a favorite (so you don’t have to do this step again).
    • Tap the library’s name beside the star to go into our OverDrive collection.
    • You will now see our OverDrive collection.
    • If you haven’t yet used the new OverDrive, you’ll want to Sign In first thing, to set your lending periods.
    • You will be asked to enter your library card number (no spaces, no dashes) and PIN. Tap Sign In.
    • From your Account page, tap Settings.
    • Set the lending periods to your preferences and tap Done. Checkout periods will rely on your settings here.
    • Now you can either search or Browse for titles you’re interested in.
    • Available titles will show a dark gray icon at the top right corner. Unavailable titles will show light gray.
    • Tap Available Now to show only items available right away.
    • Tap the cover of a book and then tap Borrow. If you see only Place a Hold, the title is checked out.
    • Many titles can be Read in your browser.
    • If you would rather read the book in the OverDrive app, tap on Download and select EPUB.
    • You will see the message “Loading New Title,” followed by a notification that your download has finished.
    • When your book is done downloading, tap the menu button and then the bookshelf.
    • Tap the cover to open the book and start reading.
    • Congratulations on your first download! Enjoy reading your Nook eBook! • Your eBooks will appear on your bookshelf in OverDrive Media Console. (You will get an error message if you try to open them from My Stuff / My Files / OverDrive.) • Still having difficulties? Check out the OverDrive Help section, or Ask Us!
