1. 1. Recruitment and Social Media Presented By John Kamara Sponsored by CXC Consultants Exchange
    2. 3. Join in this morning on Twitter #NRFAM
    3. 5. Social Media+ Recruitment tools+ Technology.

What is social recruiting? Social Media + Recruitment (technology)

At AMB we consider social recruiting to be the effective use of social media and networking sites with sourcing techniques to open up new opportunities with clients, build relationships with potential candidates with the intention to recruit and increase your brand awareness.

The most commonly used medium is LinkedIn (78 percent ), followed by Facebook (55 percent), Twitte r (45 percent) and Blogs (19 percent). We have also found that 76 percent of candidates we spoke to are spending more time on social media.

It can also be extended to include the use of specialised Internet-based technologies and websites to perform the same standard and basic recruiting practices i.e finding candidates, initiating contact, engaging candidates and building relationships.

Your Pot of Gold

SOCIAL RECRUITING.
    4. 6.

LinkedIn

Facebook .

Twitter

Other sites include: Youtube, Plaxo, Meetup, Weedle, flickr etc..

Top Social Media sites.
    5. 7.

LinkedIn has over 300,000 professional users in Ireland.

Up to 70% of LinkedIn users are decision makers.

Facebook has more than 500million active users.

58% of active user in Ireland log on to Facebook each day.

Average user creates 90 pieces of content each month on Facebook.

Over 150,000 Irish users on Twitter.

Aston Kutcher and Britiney Spear have more twitter followers than the population of Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Israel and Panama

Social Media Facts.
    6. 8.

Employers network to find candidates, candidates network to find jobs and

Within companies, people collaborate to choose the right hire.

People increasingly networking online

People from all age groups are spending more time on social networking sites,

Using them to build both social and professional networks and gather real-time

information. According to a recent study social network usage now exceeds

Web based e-mail usage. “Job boards are where the jobs are. Social media,

however, is where the world is.”

Networks shape how people think

People use their social networks online – just as they have always talked with

friend’s offline – to find information and ask questions of their own trusted.

70% of consumers have visited social media sites to get information

and 60 percent of people said they are likely to use social media sites to pass

Along information to others online.

Why Social Recruiting? Because recruiting has become social.
    7. 9.

Networks provide connections to passive candidates

Good recruiters have always been skilled at researching the set of relevant

qualifications needed for a job, finding a person that embodies them and then

Making a connection. Because most people are not actively looking for work,

recruiters look for passive candidates that fit the bill. New online sources – including

social networks, blogs, online resumes and profiles – give recruiters more ways than

ever to research passive candidates and connect with them.

Social networking lowers recruitment expense

Social recruiting provides a targeted and viral way to reach the right candidates.

empowers employee referrals and enables companies to reduce recruiting costs by

involving the whole company in hiring. Study after study has found that referrals,

through social networks or personal connections, produce the highest quality hires

at the lowest cost. By using tools that increase the efficiency of social recruiting and

allow for measurement, social recruiting can provide a high ROI.

Why Social Recruiting?
    8. 10.

T actics (Strategy, People and Goals)

Who are you trying to communicate with, listen to, find or engage with?

Where are the people you are trying to communicate with?

What message do you want them to hear about your company?

Have you thought about your social recruiting strategy

What are you objectives and goals?

Social Recruiting “ The How”
    9. 11.

T ools (What are the most effective tools for you?)

What tools are you going to use

How are you going to sync all your tools

What knowledge do you want to acquire i.e sourcing techniques

What sites are you going to use to source candidates, engage with candidates and acquire new clients

What online marketing avenues will you use to brand your company and yourself as well?

How much technology do you need?

actives and goals?

“ The How” continued..
