A Cerdá 1 MOLE Training (TOT) on OHS & Industrial Relations Dhaka, 1 to 3 June 2007 Welcome to all participants Work toguether Occupational Health & Safety/Industrial Relations (OHS/IR) 3 days Training 3 days Pilot project visit to 4 RMG factories Final Objective: to learn from eachother with a practical approach!
    • GTZ-Progress Social & Environmental Standarts. A Cerdá 2 MOLE Training on OHS & Industrial Relations Focused on RMG We all will share our knowledge: • Technical Advise Team (TAT) • Labour Department • Industrial Relations Institute (IRE) • Labour Inspectorate We will look as well to • Employers/workes approach in Ready Made Garments (RMG) sector • Auditor/Inspector/Trainer attitude
    • GTZ-Progress Social & Environmental Standarts. A Cerdá 3 Training Pilot Project • Trained to become Trainers & aply knowledge to make evaluations in Pilot Project = visiting 4 RMG factories • Revise essential technical OSH/IR issues - Hazards: Temperature, Ventilation, Noise & Light - Manual load handdling - Chemicals, Machines, Fire, Electrical
    • GTZ-Progress Social & Environmental Standarts. A Cerdá 4 Training • Use of Measurement Equipment: Noise/Light • Use of Personal Protective Equipment • Rolle Game Exercises: 3 teams 4 members - Employers Group - Workers Group - MOLE Offials Group Each day participants change their rolle

A Cerdá 5 Training Risk Evaluation: Pilot Project • Visit to 4 RMG Factories: 3 days • Days 1 & 2: TAT and Participants • Day 3: Participants splitt in 2 teams (6/6) - Meeting with Employers/Workers in charge of OSH - Visit and evaluate all relevant RMG work/places - Reports based on: measurements, chek-lists, Risk evaluation methodologies, Work-place analysis
    • GTZ-Progress Social & Environmental Standarts. A Cerdá 6 Training Risk Evaluation & Reports • After Evaluations participants splitt in 4 teams (3 members) • 1 Team Leader, 2 Officials, 1 TAT Coucher • Each Team will coordinate/adjust results of the Evaluation/check-lists - Team Leader will elaborate Final Report & Propossal for Corrective Action Plan (CAP) - CAP Discussed with Enterprises/Workers - TAT Hot Line & Coaching Each Team - Follow up: up to 3 meetings with Enterprise/workers representatives to follow up progress

A Cerdá 7 Follow Up Indicators • Factory appoints workers in charge of OHS (N.) • Workers are informed and trained on OHS (%) • Managers Regularly meet with Workers on OHS • Follow CAP stepts (%)/ discussed with MOLE • Buy new Equipment/PPE/Make Reforms/Improvements • Managers/workers look for Advise from MOLE • Workers ask MOLE for Solutions • MOLE use Measurement Devises • BGMEA/BKMEA ask for Advise from MOLE

A Cerdá 8 RESULTS ACHIEVED • TOT: Officials MOLE become Trainers • October/November Training 3 addressed to rest of Officials • TOT Officials participate in Dissemination Activities • TOT Officials Are Awarded Project Certificate • Participants Gain Professional/Personal Prestige & Consideration
