I've waited all day for my cup of gruel. My stomach hurts

A cloud of dust covers my body. The flies buzz around my eyes. There are so many of us. I subsist as best I can.

They tell me I'm lucky to be alive. am I ? My mom and dad died in the fighting.

I've seen so many guns, so many people being killed.It is good that I am too weak to have nightmares.

Sometimes I watch the bugs crawling around.They seem to have such purpose. I work on continuing to breathe.

I don't remember the last time I laughed.It must have been when my mom was holding me, before the fighting began.That seems so long ago.

I hold on tight to something. Maybe it's called hope .
