Accedo 2.0Virtual Community for people with intellectual disability
What is Accedo 2.0?It’s a 20 month long program, from 2009 to 2011, developed for creatingand testing a virtual community with social networking features,designed under accessibility and usability criteria and to be used bymild intellectual disability people.It is funded by Advance 2 Plans of the Ministry of Industry, Tourismand Trade.
Goals• Improving access to ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) of people with disabilities.• Enhance communication and the use made of the Internet by people with intellectual disabilities.• Improve the accessibility of web 2.0 on the Internet.• Facilitate the social integration of people with disabilities.
Who is involved?Esplai Foundation in Barcelona, UNED inMadrid and FASAD in Gijon as programdevelopers and managers with the support of 8entities from 7 different Spanish regions thatlaunch pilot testing of the community.
