  • Philippians 2:9-11

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father
Yes and even muhammad and his god will have to bow

  6. 6. Here?
  7. 7. Is Allaah e v e r y w h e r e ?
  8. 9. Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah (The People of Sunnah) believe in and confirm all of the attributes of Allaah without Tahreef (changing the original meaning [of the texts] ), without Ta'teel (denying such attributes for Allaah), without Takyeef (enquiring into their true nature/asking how) and without Tamtheel (likening [His attributes] to those of the creation).
  9. 10. ALLAAH is above the seven heavens , above His 'Arsh, separate from His creatures, and His creatures are separate from Him.
  10. 11. In supporting this position, the people of Sunnah use the following as evidences (5):
  11. 12. 1. Al-Kitaab (The Book – i.e. The Qur’aan)
  12. 13. <ul><li>Mention of Al-‘Uluu (Transcendency) </li></ul><ul><li>         سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى </li></ul><ul><li>[ Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High , ] </li></ul><ul><li>Surah Al-A’la 87:1 </li></ul>1. Al-Kitaab (The Book – i.e. The Qur’aan)
  13. 14. b. Use of Al-Fawqiyyah (being above) وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ [ And He is the Irresistible, above His slaves , and He is the All-Wise, Well-Acquainted with all things. ] Surah Al-An’aam 6:18 1. Al-Kitaab (The Book – i.e. The Qur’aan)
  14. 15. c. Nuzuul – Things descending/coming down from Allaah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ [ Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’aan) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). ] Surah Al-Hijr 15:9 1. Al-Kitaab (The Book – i.e. The Qur’aan)
  15. 16.    d. Şu’uud – Things coming up to Him إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ يَرْفَعُهُ [ To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it, ] Surah Al-Faaţir 35:10 1. Al-Kitaab (The Book – i.e. The Qur’aan)
  16. 17. e. Allaah Himself mentions that He is above the heavens أَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاء أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الأَرْضَ [ Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allaah), will not cause the earth to sink with you. ] Surah Al-Mulk 67:16 1. Al-Kitaab (The Book – i.e. The Qur’aan)
  17. 18. 2. As-Sunnah (The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ) sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam
  18. 19. <ul><li>Statements </li></ul><ul><li>Abu Hurairah narrates that the Messenger said, </li></ul><ul><li>&quot;Whoever donates the equal of a date </li></ul><ul><li>from whatever was collected righteously, </li></ul><ul><li>and only good is ascended to Allaah , </li></ul><ul><li>then, He will accept it (the charity) with His Right </li></ul><ul><li>and raise it for its giver till it becomes like a mountain.&quot; </li></ul><ul><li>(Bukhari) </li></ul>2. As-Sunnah (The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ) sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam
  19. 20. b. Actions Jabir ibn Abdillah said: &quot; The Messenger of Allaah said in his speech on the day of Arafah: 'Did I convey (the Message) ?' They said: 'Yes.' While raising his finger to the sky and then pointing at them, he said: 'Oh Allaah, be a witness.“ (Muslim) 2. As-Sunnah (The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ) sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam
  20. 21. c. Acknowledgements    Muawiyah bin Al-Hakam As-Salmi said: &quot;I had a slave-girl who used to herd sheep for me. One day I discovered that a wolf had killed one of her sheep, and I'm a man from the children of Adam, I get upset like they get upset, and I slapped her in the face. Then I went to the Prophet who impressed upon me the seriousness of my act. I said, 'O Messenger of Allaah, should I not set her free?‘ He said, 'Bring her to me.' He asked her, 'Where is Allaah?' She said, '(Fees-samaa) Above the heavens.' He said, 'Who am I?' She said, 'You are the Messenger of Allaah.' He said, 'Free her, for she is a believer.' (Muslim and Abu Dawood) 2. As-Sunnah (The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ) sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam
  21. 22. 3. Al-Ijmaa’ (Consensus of the Righteous Predecessors, from the time of the Prophet , the Sahabah, the Tabi’een, and the A’immah from amongst them) sallaAllaahu ‘ alayhi wa sallam
  22. 23. Abu Bakr As-Sideeq said: &quot;Whoever worshipped Muhammad, Muhammad has died. Whoever worshipped Allaah, Allaah is Alive fees-Sama (above the heavens), and death does not touch Him.&quot; [Ad-Darimi in Ar-Radd 'Alal-Jahmiyyah]. 3. Al-Ijmaa’ (Consensus of the Righteous Predecessors)
  23. 24. Imaam Abu Haneefah said: “ Whoever says that he does not know whether His Lord is above the heavens or on earth is a disbeliever (kaafir!), because Allaah has said (meaning): 'The Ever-Merciful Istawa (rose) upon His Throne' [20:5]. And His Throne is above the seven heavens.&quot; [At-Thahabee in Al-‘Uluu] 3. Al-Ijmaa’ (Consensus of the Righteous Predecessors)
  24. 25. Imaam Shaafi’ee said: &quot; The sunnah that we follow along with our companions, followers of hadith whom I met and took knowledge from, like Sufiyan, Imam Malik, and others, is that we believe that there is no god (worthy of worship) except Allaah and that Muhammad is His Messenger. And that Allaah, the Praised One, is upon His Throne fees-sama (above the heavens). He comes closer to His slaves as He wills. Allaah descends to the lower heaven as He wills.&quot; [At-Thahabee in Al-‘Uluu] 3. Al-Ijmaa’ (Consensus of the Righteous Predecessors)
  25. 26. 4. Al-‘Aql (Intellect or Common Sense)
  26. 27. Beneath is not as noble as above and the most suitable qualities are attributable to Allaah (subhanahu wa ta’ala). So if being above is more noble than being beneath , then obviously common sense will tell you that Allaah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) will not be in the direction which is not suitable for His majesty.  4. Al-‘Aql (Intellect or Common Sense)
  27. 28. 5. Al-Fitrah (Natural Disposition)
  28. 29. 5. Al-Fitrah (Natural Disposition) When supplicating , man is predisposed to look up / turn to the direction above without ever being instructed to turn in this manner.
