SlideShare has raised Series A venture capital funding from Venrock, one of the leading venture capital firms in Silicon Valley. Venrock was founded in 1969 as the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller Family and has about $2.1 billion under management.

Brian Ascher joined Venrock in 1998 as a Kauffman Fellow and is currently a Partner based in Venrock's Palo Alto office. Brian focuses broadly on consumer and B2B internet investments, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of several companies in addition to SlideShare, including Vocera (NYSE: VCRA), Inrix, Retail Solutions, Billfloat, and Personal Capital. Past investments include Red Beacon (acquired by Home Depot), ADiFY (acquired by Cox Enterprises), DATAllegro (acquired by Microsoft), RelayHealth (acquired by McKesson) and Unicru (acquired by Kronos). Prior to Venrock, Brian was a Senior Product Manager at Intuit responsible for Quicken and Quicken.com, and earlier in his career was a Strategy Consultant at the Monitor Group. Brian has been named to the Forbes Midas List multiple times, for the VCs who have backed the most profitable winners in the last four years. Brian received his B.A. from Princeton University and his M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Marissa Campise joined Venrock in 2011 and focuses on internet and digital media companies from the firm's New York office. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at SlideShare. Prior to Venrock, she was a Principal with Greycroft Partners where she evaluated investment opportunities and observed on the Boards of Netsertive and Klout. She held a similar role working for Howard Lindzon (Social Leverage), where she worked with portfolio companies, most notably Stocktwits. Marissa began her career in structured finance as a collateral analyst at Deloitte & Touche and then worked in both the Capital Raising and Investment Banking departments at Matrix USA LLC. Her past work experience also includes developing E-Learning courses for the Adult Education Center in New Haven. Marissa graduated with honors from Yale with a B.A. in History.
