Broad Objectives of CommunicationStrategy and Action Plan• Accelerate adoption of improved technologies throughbehaviour change communication.• Enhancing the reputation of WAAPP, CORAF andCountry Teams as providers of quality information andtechnologies regarding Agricultural Research andDevelopment.• Develop Regional Cooperation.• Achieve sustainable capacity of CORAF and WAAPPcountries to deliver complex communicationassignments.

Specific Objectives of GCTC• To identify available technologies fordissemination and adoption along agriculturalvalue chain.• To identify potential communication channels foragricultural technology dissemination.• To design appropriate media activities todisseminate technologies.• To make WAAPP Ghana visible nationally andregionally.
  7. 7. Composition/Membership of GCTC• National Project Coordinator (Chairperson)• WAAPP Communication Officer• Representative (Focal Person) – DAES• Communication Officer, NCOS• Training Officer, NCOS• Website Manager• Media Representative (Private Media)
  8. 8. Functions/Activities• Organize TV, Radio (CommunityRadio), Sensitization and Awareness CreationProgrammes.• Organize newspaper articles (commissioned).• Develop farmers handbooks, productionguides, fact sheets etc.• Produce bulletins, website articles, souvenirslike T-Shirts, caps etc.
  9. 9. Challenges• Lukewarm attitude of stakeholders tocontribute articles for bulletin/publication.• Inability of Committee to fulfill its meetingschedules.
  10. 10. Lessons LearntAn active, vibrant and committedcommunication committee can guarantee aneffect implementation of communicationstrategy/plan
