  • 2. On the 9th of May 1950, Robert Schumanpresented his proposal on the creation of anorganized Europe, indispensable to themaintenance of peaceful relations.
  • 3. This proposal, known as the "Schumandeclaration", is considered to be thebeginning of the creation of what is now theEuropean Union.
  • 4. The 9th of May has become a Europeansymbol (Europe Day) which, along with the flathe anthem the motto and the single currency(the euro), identifies the political entity of theEuropean Union.
  • 5. Europe Day is the occasion for activities andfestivities that bring Europe closer to its citizenand peoples of the Union closer to oneanother.
  • 6. Activities:- Decoration of theschool with theEuropean flag and theposter of theEuropean Day.
  • 7. Activities:- Work in the Historyand Geographyclasses about the EUand its member states.
  • 8. Activities:- Creation of posters foreach member state of theEU.
  • 9. Activities:Games and quizzesabout the EU, inteams.
  • 10. Aims:-To improve studentsknowledge of Europe.
  • 11. Aims:- Team work.
