  1. 1. Eco Friendly Crease Recovery Finishing By Cyclodextrins In textile wet processing industry large numbers of chemicals areinvolved for various purposes. Many of these chemicals are noxious and donot effortlessly humiliate and accordingly affects the atmosphere. The textileindustry continues to look for eco-friendly substitutes for toxic chemicals; touse the Bio-degradable auxiliaries and to minimize the loss of inherentcharacteristics of the fibre (and or Process). Resin or wrinkle free finishing is widely used in the textile industryto impart wrinkle-resistance to cotton fabrics and garments. But considerableloss in strength and abrasion resistance of the resin finished fabrics has beena major concern for the industry. The treatment of cellulose to improvecrease recovery and provide highly durable press ratings is based on cross-linking of cellulose molecules through the Resin finishing agent. Cyclodextrinsare non-reducing cyclic glucose oligosaccharides resulting from thecyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase catalysed degradation of starch.Chitosan (CTS) also an important Polysaccharide and commercially availablebiopolymer, have many chemical attributes to make it an interesting aspirantfor these applications. Chitosan is the name given to the polymers that areobtained by the deacetylation of chitin, which is the second most abundantpolysaccharide found on earth next to cellulose. These both chemicals arederived from natural sources and these are eco friendly chemicals which willnot harm the environment. Aim of this work has facilitated the use of this polysaccharide in Resinfinishing to improve the various important properties which were lost by theResin finishing and to optimize the new type of Resin finishing withpolysaccharides.
