    • Assignment 3: Evaluating Example Coursework (construction) Nicole Abigail Russ
    • Example 1: Transformation
    • What Went Well Statistics: Showing the statistics of transgendered people. Diagram showing off their ICT skills, while talking about transgendered people all around the world.
    • What Went Well Variety of shots: establishing, rule of thirds, wide shot, mid shot.
    • What Went Well Using transitions to move from one place to another.
    • Even Better If Sound: 5:15, when talking about her room, her voice got cut off too quickly. Around 6 minutes the volume changes meaning that for half of the clip the reduced the background noise, but for the other half they didn’t.
    • Even Better If There was less copy written material. For 4 minutes straight all we were watching was copy written clips. They didn’t cut people off half way through their explanation.
    • Example 3: Media Manipulation
    • WWW 1. Variety of camera shots to show the presenter and the different locations Mid shot Long shot Wide shot 2.Use of clear but not distracting titles to introduce people being interviewed Use of white writing and a black background keeps the text simple and not to distracting from what is being said
    • WWW 3. Change in volume control so both a voiceover and the score music can be heard Still photographs shown using ken burns In this scene the volume of the score music is lowered so the voiceover can be heard 4.Information is presented in a creative way that reflects what is being discussed in the documentary Hoodies connote the youth culture Blackberry phones are usually associated with youths
    • EBI 1.Statistics are used but look very amateur and don’t suit the type of documentary The use of the colour pink and the female background would make the audience think the statistics involve females but it doesn’t 2. Use titles to introduce every individual being interviewed regardless if it’s the public or an expert
    • EBI 3.Some cuts of close up shots of specific article or words are either not on the screen long enough or on the screen for too long 4.Use of too many archival footage and photographs, the presenter is hardly shown Shown for too long on screen Not kept on screen long enough Audience becomes bored and read it over and over again till it disappears Audience has to guess the rest of go backwards to get the word again
