Stigma allows or encourages discriminatory attitudes “Old people ask stupid questions” These attitudes are often reflected in discriminatory behavior that results in acts of discrimination “Let’s not waste our time. Tell them the office is closed” Acts of discrimination draw attention to or increase stigma “Nobody wants to speak to them. That’s probably because they are a burden ”
