Mahatma Gandhi realized that Indian caste system was divided into four layers, Brahmin, Vaishya, Kshtriya and Shudra. The Shudras were the most neglected, but were high in numbers.
He understood that giving importance to this specific layer, will change the dynamics and thus coined the principle of “Give everyone a stake”.
Business do no Business with other business, people do business with people. Treating everyone with respect changes the dynamics of the game, as they return it duly when the time comes.
The 12 Lessons in this chapter will enable the CEO to understand how to use this power

      • Mahatma Gandhi realized that Indian caste system was divided into four layers, Brahmin, Vaishya, Kshtriya and Shudra. The Shudras were the most neglected, but were high in numbers.
      • He understood that giving importance to this specific layer, will change the dynamics and thus coined the principle of “Give everyone a stake”.
      • Business do no Business with other business, people do business with people. Treating everyone with respect changes the dynamics of the game, as they return it duly when the time comes.
      • The 12 Lessons in this chapter will enable the CEO to understand how to use this power.
      • LESSON 20: RESPECT EVERYONE, ALWAYS
      • Treating everyone with respect requires less effort and less work because you no longer need to make an investment of resources in the demanding labor of analyzing, sorting, and classifying the “value” of each and every person you encounter
      • LESSON 21:GIVE EVERY JOB A HIGH PROFILE
      • The best run companies are characterized by individual pride and satisfaction in doing excellent work toward common goals that pervade the entire organization.
      www.shareoftime.blogspot.com Chapter 4 Give everyone a Stake
    • www.shareoftime.blogspot.com LESSON 22: DEMONSTRATE YOUR WORTH What ever campaign you run, call each person to prove and strive to earn a worthwhile identity through hard work, noble service and necessary sacrifice. LESSON 23: MAKE YOUR LEADERSHIP ORGANIC The most powerful motivation is self sustaining and does not depend on application of force from outside. Prove that the change you want is going to benefit them, give them stake in your goals, make your leadership organic-meaningful and desired- for everyone you lead. LESSON 24: YOUR COMPANY IS YOUR FAMILY Use your heart instead of mind while taking key decisions. Treating the company as family enables the leader to take maximum work allocation with best resources possible to the right candidate in view . Chapter 4 Give everyone a Stake
    • www.shareoftime.blogspot.com LESSON 25: GIVE UNCOMMON PEOPLE A COMMON IDENTITY Effective management is pulling together as well as letting go. But the release is meaningless if the members of the organization lack an understanding of and a dedication to their common objectives and goals. LESSON 26: RECRUIT RESULTS NOT PEOPLE Recruit your team and managers based on the results you need, rather on formal labels attached to personnel. Most often CEO make the mistake of going by their heart in this domain, which is the sure fire way to loose. If find a company not able to deliver result, the reason is the organization has allocated resources to People and not based on Results. Most often this is found in today’s business Houses. The best technology is available to heads, who don't know how to use it efficiently, while the person who knows and can give phenomenal result wait for his turn to be head to use. The CEO looses not only the quality of results but kills the Final outcome as well. Chapter 4 Give everyone a Stake
    • www.shareoftime.blogspot.com LESSON 27: NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON DISSENT “ Policy must always be decided on majority vote but it does not cancel the minority vote.” A highly profound idea which every CEO must learn in todays world. Most organization has this problem, the most hardworking talented and honest employee is usually looked down upon. Reasons, because he shakes the very existence of the people. He/she will push the limits. A CEO must remember that every perspective enhances the decision. LESSON 28: INFLEXIBLE GOALS, FLEXIBLE METHODS The goal of managing human capital is not to change people, it is to guide and improve performance. Goals are goals, at any given time, they are absolute for a department. Chapter 4 Give everyone a Stake
    • www.shareoftime.blogspot.com LESSON 29: LEADERS NEVER FOLLOW It is the first task of the CEO to determine who is his “Real master” is. Is his function to represent employees? His shareholders? His clients and customers? The needs and wants of these three group rarely coincides. Employees wants higher salaries, shareholders wants lower cost and high profit, while customer want the best value- high quality at low price. More over is the customer always right? Or employee? Or shareholder? The way out to this is to discover, evolve, define and embrace values that encompass yet transcend all the individuals who hold a stake in the company. LESSON 30: INFLEXIBLE GOALS, FLEXIBLE METHODS Attempting to minimize or deny the conflict at hand is a bad resolution strategy. One can achieve this conflict resolution by reallocating the work. Chapter 4 Give everyone a Stake
    • www.shareoftime.blogspot.com LESSON 31: LEAD TOWARD ENLIGHTENED ANARCHY The ideal toward which a CEO should lead his company is a productive, profitable existence without him and, indeed, without any central authority. This doesn’t mean that a organization must work without a CEO or Managers. What it means is the organization must become Self governing. Remember Ten Minds following the same pattern, thinking the same way, are no more powerful than a single mind, but ten independent thinkers focused on a common goal are ten times more powerful. .
