A good customer of your Bank’s Branch in Bangalore has lost a fixed deposit receipt for Rs. 100000. issued by the Branch in his favour and falling due for payment on 20 june 2008. He approaches you for necessary action in the matter. </li></ul><ul><li>How would you proceed? </li></ul>

A bank has issued a Fixed Deposit receipt for Rs. 7000 for 2 years with interest @ 8% to X and Y payable to either or survivor. </li></ul><ul><li>On completion of one year, X approaches the bank for repayment of the fixed deposit or in the alternative to grant him a loan for the maximum amount, as he is in urgent need of money. As manager of the bank, how would you proceed in the matter? What documents would you take for the loan and how much interest would you charge? </li></ul>
