Gummy Bears and Osmosis - Presentation Transcript

  1. Diffusion - the movement of stuff from where there is more to where there is less! Introduction to Biochemistry Example: heat (energy) from hot cocoa will move out of the cup into the air where these is less heat.
  2. 1) Gummy Bear increased in size in tap water. This process is called OSMOSIS, the movement of water from where there is more to where there is less. 2) Gummy Bear decreased in size in salt water based on the concept of diffusion. The salt solution sucked the water out of the Gummy Bear. Tap Water 10% salt solution CUP 90% water 100% water 100% water 0% water
  3. Self-Reflection for Trimester 1 1. Describe how you demonstrated PAWS in science class and lab for the first trimester. 2. Which expectation from PAWS do you plan on improving for the second trimester? How do you plan on improving? 3. Do you think the quality of work and your effort on your assignments was adequate (enough)? If not, how can you improve? 4. If you could give yourself a grade for the first trimester (A+ - F), what would it be?
