  1. 2. Plant Life <ul><li>Plants differ from non-living things because they reproduce </li></ul><ul><li>The life cycle of plants vary from one plant to another </li></ul>
  2. 3. Types of Plants are: <ul><li>Cacti </li></ul><ul><li>Flowers </li></ul><ul><li>Herbs </li></ul><ul><li>Bushes and Shrubs </li></ul><ul><li>Vegetables </li></ul><ul><li>Trees </li></ul>
  3. 4. Cacti <ul><li>Well adapted to hot and dry weather by storing water in their succulent stems. They are also known for their spines for which they are famous! </li></ul>
  4. 5. Flowers <ul><li>The reproductive part of flowering plants </li></ul>
  5. 6. Herbs <ul><li>Used for cooking and medicines. In cooking the leaves of the herb are usually used. </li></ul>
  6. 7. Shrubs and Bushes <ul><li>Woody plants, usually under 6m tall, having many stems and many of them covered with flower of all shapes and sizes. </li></ul>
  7. 8. Vegetables <ul><li>Are parts of plants (seeds, stems or fruit) that we cook or eat raw. </li></ul>
  8. 9. Trees <ul><li>Are found everywhere in the world. </li></ul><ul><li>They are tall, and some are very old too! </li></ul><ul><li>They are important because they hold soil in its place </li></ul><ul><li>They are important because they give us the clean oxygen we breathe! </li></ul>
  9. 10. Trees <ul><li>Evergreen </li></ul><ul><li>Grows new leaves before the old ones fall off </li></ul><ul><li>Deciduous </li></ul><ul><li>Sheds all its leaves in autumn and grows new ones in Spring </li></ul>

  11. 12. What does a plant need to grow? <ul><li>Air </li></ul><ul><li>Light </li></ul><ul><li>Warmth </li></ul><ul><li>Water </li></ul><ul><li>nutrients </li></ul>
