  • Be Your Own Stylist: Facts About Style
  • People who don't know about fashion can be confused by a shopping trip. If you have spent more than one shopping trip wishing you weren't even there, you need some help. Thankfully, you can read on to find some help here.
  • Do you need new jeans? In today's market there are many styles and fits in the jean aisle at any given store. It can be too much to handle at times. Opt for a classic style like straight leg or boot cut jeans. These basics will fit most wardrobes and work well for almost everyone. Match a new pair of jean with a great bag. Bottega Veneta or Gucci are great options but there are also affordable bags that you can purchase.
  • One helpful piece of fashion advice is to make sure you're always looking out for new styles. Magazines can help you see what is on the runway right now. These are the best places to look for up and coming styles and the latest fashion trends.
  • Keep up to date by following fashion magazines, blogs, or emails. Lead your friends in the fashion scene by knowing ahead of time what looks, colors and fabrics are on the fashion horizon.
  • Don't pump your mascara wand. This will not produce more mascara on the brush, instead, it tends to trap air in the mascara container. This ups the odds of bacteria growing in it. Move the brush sideways a little if you need to get more mascara on the brush.
  • Moisturizing shampoos can help with frizzy hair, so look for that property listed on the bottle. You will be able to cure your frizz and make your hair stay down when you apply enough conditioner as you shower. Products that claim to "volumize" should also be avoided. Also, beware of anything that contains wheat or rice in the ingredients.
  • When your beauty products are running low, use every last little bit before throwing them out. If the product is in a tube, you can use the squeezers that were made to use up toothpaste. Angle the bottles 90 degrees, then 180 degrees to get every little bit of product out. Also, you can take the top off to get the last bit of product out. These are cost savings methods that can keep money in your pocket.
  • Do you want to just wear some shorts while hanging with your friends on a beautiful day? If so, then never wear visible socks with them. Kindergarteners can get away with this, but not an adult. Try to look adult-like; avoid socks with shorts.
  • Do not follow trends just because they are popular. What looks fabulous on the 6' tall, rail-thin fashion model may not translate as well on you. Step away from the dictates of the monthly fashion guru and follow your personal style. Trust your instincts when it comes to this. Your instincts are often best.
  • Have you recently gained some weight in your midsection? If so, then avoid wearing fitted clothing. This serves simply to emphasize your extra weight. Wear loose clothes instead that will make your figure look better.
  • Do you know how to choose the shoes that go with your outfit? Matching your belt to your shoes is an absolute must. You can look quite fashionable with this simple and classic look.
  • Know your body's strengths and weaknesses. Fitted clothing can help to accentuate a smaller person's best features. If you are larger on top, try to find other pieces that will take the attention off of your bust line. If you have a pear shape, wear light colors on top with dark bottoms.
  • Don't feel down if someone comments on the way you are dressing. Dressing well isn't a matter of looking like your favorite Hollywood celebrity. What's most important is being comfortable and confident in your appearance and how you present yourself to other people.
  • While fashion is constantly changing, reading up on the latest trends can be very beneficial. Trendy items can all be found in many areas online and also in fashion magazines. You have the ability to choose whatever suits your taste.
  • With the tips in mind, shopping will be easier. Use what you have learned here and you can create looks that you are proud of and looks that make you look fantastic. You'll look great and feel great!
